Before I get busy mashing the potatoes and roasting the beast, I thought I’d snap a few photos of our Christmas dining room. Taking a cue from my holiday china, which is made by the Finnish company Iittala, the color scheme is red, white and blue. Who would have guessed such a patriotic palette could be so Christmasy?

I started collecting this pattern a few years ago. I love that the pattern is holiday-ish without being holiday-specific. A big thank you to my mom, who thoughtfully gifted us with another place setting this year!

A small poinsettia in a vintage glass vase makes a simple centerpiece. I wanted to leave plenty of room on the table for the food!

This year I displayed our holiday cards on the mantel. We received many photo cards (which I love), and I found they fit perfectly in these sliced log card holders. The card holders are re-purposed from my sister’s wedding last summer and were made by my brother-in-law Rob, handyman extraordinaire.
Wishing everyone peace, love and good things to eat. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
