Daily Mews

Warmth, charming details, and an overall welcoming spirit define this retail design. The business concept combines a specialty cafe and boutique with an adjacent lounge space designed as a home for adoptable rescue cats. Designing a space comfortable for human guests but also enriched for the needs of feline inhabitants was the key challenge, which Tamara Heather Interior Design carried out with great success. Easily cleanable and durable finish materials were selected with maintenance in mind. Custom ledges and climbing structures provide enrichment and exercise for the cats, who are able to roam freely and interact naturally with customers. Period details of the 1940’s bungalow were preserved where possible, and guided many of the material and color selections. A custom mural was designed and painted by local artist Scott Partridge.
