FABO Cafe: Art+Coffee+Wine in Charlotte

FABO Cafe in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte is not your typical coffee shop. With its quirky, comfy patchwork chairs and laid back atmosphere, it’s kind of like Friends “Central Perk” married a hip art gallery. The works of local artists, including paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics and hand-knit scarves surround you as you sip your morning (or evening) beverage.FABO Cafe interior

As an enthusiastic fan of local coffeehouses, and an even bigger fan of coffee in general, I was excited when FABO opened in 2010. I love perusing the ever-changing artworks on display, all of which is affordably priced (paintings start at $40.)

The fun chairs for sale at FABO are one-of-a-kind creations by design company re:VIVE.

Working from a small home office every day, FABO has become my de-facto conference room and employee break area. I have done some serious brainstorming and business planning while caffeinated at FABO!

I must say a word or two about FABO’s owner, Amy Aussieker. Not only does she have great taste in wine and art, she’s also a stalker. Yes, you read that right. Amy is such a big fan of Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show, that she’s launched an official “stalking campaign” to get him to visit FABO during the DNC later this year. So kooky and hilarious! I love it! To learn more about how you can help bring Jon Stewart to FABO, visit the “Stalking Jon Stewart” FB page, or watch this spot on Charlotte Today.
