Well hello! Thank you for dropping by our grand opening. Can you call a blog launch a grand opening? I’ve decided you can. My name is Tamara, and I’ll be the host here. I’m new to blogging, but not new to design. Design has run through my veins ever since I could call my Crayolas by name. Cornflower blue and periwinkle were my favorites.
I am launching the Design Carolinas blog concurrently with launching an interior design business. A big part of interior design is knowing where to go for those unique pieces and custom-made furnishings that make a house a home. What I am planning to do is to share the inspirations and sources I uncover as I work on projects. Being based in Charlotte, NC, these sources may have a Charlotte-bias, at least in the beginning. It is my hope that as the business grows, I will be able to expand coverage throughout the Carolinas.
Did you notice the title graphic for the blog, at the top of the page? Isn’t it lovely? It was designed by the talented Katie Matson with Designed For Momentum. A few words of explanation: the graphic is an abstract representation of the varied landscapes if the Carolinas, if they were to be portrayed in fabrics. We have the mountain ranges of the Appalachians, the verdant foothills, the grassy piedmont, and the sparkling waves at the shoreline. The landscape itself can be a powerful source of inspiration.
I am looking forward to many adventures as my business grows and I get to discover all of the wonderful design the Carolinas have to offer. I hope you’ll join me on the journey!
