For the past week and wrapping up yesterday, the bi-annual furniture market tradeshow was hosted up in High Point. I spent two full days scouring the showrooms, looking for just the right finds for my design clients. High Point Market is like Disney World: equal parts exhilarating and exhausting. And just plain huge. By my estimation I saw not 1% of all there was to offer. While I was on a pretty focused mission this trip, my head couldn’t help but be turned by all the of beautiful things around me. I took a couple (hundred) pictures, and here are some of my favorite finds:
From Matsuoka: the central glass insert on this ingenious table rotates, serving as a lazy susan.
I love that you can see inside the cylindrical base, which is painted a bright pop of orange. Good for waking you up over your morning coffee!
Also from Matsuoka, the design on this spectacular wood chest was inspired by a tortoise shell.
Love this dining chair from Swaim – it’s graceful yet contemporary.
These little star-shaped side tables are just pure fun! They’re done in a shagreen-textured resin. Also by Swaim.
This coffee table from Brownstone is a little bit beach, a little bit mountains. The inset wood pattern gives it a great textural interest.
Christopher Guy’s showroom is truly art in the form of furniture. How lovely is the relief bird pattern on this chest?
