January 6, Charlotte: First Friday Gallery Crawl Stop by the galleries of NoDa and Plaza Midwood to see the latest in Charlotte’s local art scene. Slate Interiors will be serving refreshments by Bistro La Bon, and across the street the Liora Manne store will have original art by Liora Manne herself. The galleries of SouthEnd are taking the month off, but will re-join for the next gallery crawl Feb. 3rd. |

Jan 20-22, Charlotte: Spring Home Show at Metrolina Expo See the latest in home building products and materials, and meet local vendors and contractors at the Charlotte Spring Home Show. Designed for homeowners in all stages of building or remodeling, the event includes hundreds of exhibits with merchandise, sample interior and exterior vignettes, and product demonstrations. |

January 31, Charlotte: Mint Gallery Talk – NC Pottery Head over to the Mint Museum for music, a gallery tour, and demonstrations inspired by the exhibition A Thriving Tradition: 75 Years of Collecting North Carolina Pottery. 6-9PM, free and open to the public. |

February 3-5, Morehead City: Carolina Chocolate Festival OK, so this isn’t exactly a design event. But it’s CHOCOLATE! And chocolate applies to every situation. The 10th annual Carolina Chocolate Festival features chocolatiers from around the state and beyond, serving cakes, tortes, candy, ice cream and more. Special offerings include spa treatments, wine tasting, and cooking demonstrations. |
